A beautiful piece of furniture recently sourced from the French Pyrenees. The Commode is believed to date to the late 18th Century and is in the traditional country style. It retains its original paint of pale blue and a faded beige. The top is painted to resemble marble and sets the piece off well. The handles are most striking and comprise of Rams head motifs flanking central trophies with Emperors heads and Swags forming the drawer pulls - the handles have been identified as Swedish which is highly unusual on a southern French piece of this type. The construction of the drawers is fairly rustic but the drawers do slide well even after all these years and the piece still usable and offers a significant amount of storage.

Unless requested otherwise, delivery will be by 1 man only and help will be required to unload heavy items. 2 man delivery teams may be available at extra cost, please contact us before buying if you have special delivery requirements.
